Welcome to EDU 220 – Praxis Core Pre-Professional Seminar
This course is designed to prepare prospective and initially licensed teachers for the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators Exams in Reading, Writing, and Math—required for admission into the Teacher Education Council (TEC) at Shaw University. Through interactive, face-to-face sessions and technology-assisted study plans, you will develop targeted skills in reading comprehension, academic writing, and mathematical reasoning.
You will engage in test-taking strategies, practice exams, personalized study plans, and online learning resources such as Khan Academy and Study.com. Successful completion of the course requires registering for and taking all three Praxis Core exams, achieving passing scores, and submitting your TEC Formal Admission Packet.

Note: This course is mandatory for Elementary and Birth–Kindergarten majors unless exempted by qualifying SAT or ACT scores.
