Students must serve as interns at an approved recreational therapy site under the direct supervision of a nationally certified therapeutic recreation specialist. The experience focuses on direct service provision to clients, as well as leadership, documentation, program planning and process analysis and interaction. A minimum of 14 consecutive weeks and 40 hours a week on site is required at this time.
