Enrollment options

This course prepares teacher candidates to teach social studies in elementary schools. The course requires the candidate to apply critical thinking, problem solving skills, and information technology skills, and effective instructional strategies drawing upon the extensive literature that deals with the teaching of social studies to diverse learners. Students will apply instructional skills in teaching history, geography, economics, political science, anthropology, and sociology using research-based, effective instructional approaches.
