The JICS-Moodle integrations uses this course when creating new course shells. Specfically it grabs the Format and Visibility settings from the template course. (If the format is Topic it also uses the Number of Sections, but if the format it Weekly it uses instead the JICS start and end dates.)
Other aspects of the template course are ignored.
