Faculty should attend the session that best fits their current needs/abilities in using Moodle. 

Both Moodle training sessions below are this Wednesday, August 9 in the TOS Tutorial Center lab. This is a hands-on training. Please feel free to bring a laptop if you prefer.

SLOs: Participants will...

  • Identify/Express their learning needs re: Moodle
  • Provide feedback on Moodle/LMS wants & needs
  • Review the Quality Matters for Higher Education Standards
  • Review the 7 Principles for Good Practice in Undergraduate Education & connect them with Moodle features 
  • Explore Moodle v3.2 & best practices/ShawU faculty expectations
    • Editing the course structure & settings
    • Building & editing your course
    • Adding activities (assignments, attendance, quizzes) & resources (files, pages, URLs)
    • Setting up your gradebook categories/weights
    • Tracking student progress & attendance
    • Using communication features (profile, messaging/notifications, Quickmail setup) 
  • Obtain resources for future technological, pedagogical exploration/ development

SLOs: Participants will...

  • Identify/Express their learning needs re: Moodle
  • Explore Moodle v3.2 & best practices/ShawU faculty expectations
    • Setting up/planning your course/course content/resources
    • Importing course content
    • Adding instructors/non-editing instructors for evaluation/sharing content
    • Editing your gradebook categories/weights
    • Using Single View & gradebook columns 
    • Adding & editing rubrics for advanced grading
    • Adding conditions & tracking to activities (assignments, forums, wikis)
    • Managing resources (files, folders, books)
    • Grouping users to differentiate access & instruction
  • Obtain resources for future technological, pedagogical exploration/ development
  • Provide feedback on Moodle/LMS wants & needs
